Fences is a one-of-a-kind program, allowing you to draw labeled shaded areas on your desktop, which become movable & resizable containers for your desktop icons. Advanced users will love the fact that Fences can maintain different icon layouts on a per-screen-resolution basis.

This is really neat, but I wanted super-3d-futuristic graphics and stuff
Fences was created with maximum compatibility and usefulness in mind. Instead of just making your desktop "totally-cool!"...in a totally-non-practical way, Fences skips the fluff and focuses on doing one thing right: being useful. That said, its slick presentation and smooth animations that it adds make it look great while it does that, too.
